Capitolo 1: The New Student, Secrets and Friends

Spring marks the blossoming Sakura all around the academy grounds. Students of old and new faces started to witness the beauty of this school. Even as I am was proud that I was in this school and probably more proud to be at the Royal A class—the class of super elite, wealthy, influential, royalties and moreover, the class of intelligent people—mostly what other student calls, the perfect students.
“ Ms. Demoure,” I heard a familiar voice and looked where it came from. “ I’ve been looking for you.”
“ Oh it’s you, Ms. Annabelle Shein,” I smiled at her.
“ Cut it out! I don’t want that name.” She sulks at her second name. This braided girl is Danielle Shein, a friend and my classmate.
“ What is it Danie?” she prefers to be called by that name.
“ Oh, I am anxious about my class besides, I think the new student will kick me off the Royal A list.” She frowned.
“ New student? I never heard that.” I asked her. “ Oh don’t mind. I’m sure that you’re still in Royal A.” I patted her down and smiled.
“ You think so? I missed the exam last semester. That’s what I’m anxious about.” She took a sigh.
“ Don’t be. I’m sure no student will ever come on the List. It takes a whole semester before the president decides whom he’ll put on the Royal List.”
“ Right. I overheard that she’s just a plain average student from France.” She said.
“ See. There’s nothing to worry about. She’ll be just in class A.” I assured her.
The school bell was heard. Both of us ran towards the French building. I looked around.
The new student wasn’t here. Just what I suspected and there’s no way that person could be here. At least she’s something like royalty.

“ The Cherry Blossoms greets you a happy morning, dear students. Welcome back to your academy.”
As soon as the teacher spoke, my head follows to where he was. Following his arrival was a lady of whom I recognize—no, not recognize, of whom I know and I could not even be mistaken.
“ Please introduce yourself Mademoiselle.” The teacher asked her.
Murmurs, whispers and chattering followed.
“She can’t be here.” I heard one.
No, She could really be here. I wanted to answer but how could they not know her?
“ Do you know her?”
“ I don’t. You think she’s something?
I wanted to spank the gossipers but I couldn’t.
How could they speak to her in a rude manner? How despicable.

Her melodious voice was heard. “ Ohayou gozaimasu, watashi wa Cathrine Chevogn-desu.” She seems to flatter everyone around on her perfect Japanese accent. “ I am your new classmate for the rest of the school around. I hope that you would take care of me.”
Wait, she didn’t introduce herself properly.
“ If there’s anything that you want to ask, please do so that I may answer it accordingly.” Her aqua blue eyes were smiling though I know she was hesitant and was feeling alone by herself.
Min stood up. “ My name is Min. We are glad to have you around but I was wondering why actually you have to end up being in the Royal List. Are you something?” she was being rude.
“ Pardon Mademoiselle?” she paused then smiled. “ Ah, I get your question. I’m sorry for my behavior. I am no different than just an average student that is.”
What? My head was screaming.
“Then I think you’re mistaken in entering our class? Elite, brainiacs and royalties are inside this classroom. And if you’re not that kind, you can butt out.” Katie stood up.
“ Katie!” I eyed her. “ Stop that!”
“ What? She’s not something. So that…”
I interrupted her. “ No, she’s not! She’s actually…”
“ Pardon Mademoiselle, please.” The new student met my eyes and she actually was pleading. She turned to the rest of the class. “ If my presence is a bother to everyone, I deeply apologize for the commotions.” Then she turned to me. “ You’re really nice. Thank you for defending me but I can’t allow you.”
My jaw dropped. What is this girl thinking?
“ Monsieur, I want to see the Academy President.”
“ I deeply apologize, but it is the request of the President that you be in this class. Please sit down beside Mr. Fukusawa’s table.”
She took her bag and sat down. She was graceful in her own way and which I believe she has to be like that.
I filled my lungs with air. I need to talk to her.
Break time came and I was looking for her. Danie seems to be out of nowhere again and Katie was in her office. I can’t find the new student. Just a turn towards the Fountain Square, I saw Danie.
“ Sorry about my classmate earlier. I believe that the President has his own reason why you came to our class. Please cheer up now.”
She was with the new student.
“ Thank you. You are so kind to me though I am a stranger to you. You have a good heart.” She smiled dazzling.
Danie seems to notice my presence. “ You’re here.”
The new student stood up to greet me. “ Hi. Thank you so much for defending me though there is something that I need to speak with you.” Her face was calm though worried in a way as well.
“ I think so too.” I answer and smiled.
“ Hey, hey, would you care to explain what this is all about?” Danie was all but confusion.
“ Only her can allow you.” I said to her.
“ I apologize,” the girl spoke. “ I will tell it to you someday. There are a few things I need to take care of at first. Please do not hate me for doing so. It’s just that things are complicated.”
“ You too have a good heart. I understand you. Whatever it is I will respect it.” Danie smiled at her. “ I’ll leave you for now.”
“ Thank you so much. I don’t know how to repay your great kindness.” She held her hand.
“ Just please don’t be like so noble and… speaking that way. It creeps me out.” Danie shrugged. I let a soft laugh. “ Geez, I’m going now. See you at the class.”
“ We will.” The girl answered.
I sat beside the bench while I looked at her.
“ You’ve never change.” I started the conversation.
“ And so do you, Ms. Demoure.” She sat with her back straightly as the air kisses her long yellow-blonde hair dancing with the breeze.
“ So. It really is you, Ms. Chevogn.” I asked her.
“ Yes.” She answered.
“ Then the news was true.” Recalling the papers I’ve just had yesterday.
“ It is. Thank you that you are quite that pacifist.”
“ Thanks for the compliment. But really, I am surprised that you never mentioned…”
“ That wasn’t necessary. I want to live normally. Please, grant my request, Ms. Demoure. Never mention. Never tell.”
I took a sigh. “ This is repulsive. I’m sorry but this is insane. Someone will find about it. Someone will dig out. Now that everyone was surprised that you are in the List, they’ll be eager to know to kick you out.”
“ I’ll put myself on the Class A, but please this is my uttermost request that you be silent about it.”
“ You can’t. Once the President decides, you can’t thwart it. It’s official and decided.”
“ Then please help me.”
This girl is lost—completely and utterly lost her mind.
“ Why are you doing this?” I asked her.
“ I want to create a new me, a new self and a new name for myself.”
“ No. No matter what you do, those blood that runs through your veins were the same blood that runs to your world. You can’t separate what was in you.”
“ I want to try.”
“ You are insane.”
“ I am probably. So please do help me. I’ll repay you.”
“ I don’t want it.” Am I that idiot? Begging for money? This girl is ticking my patience down.
“ Please?” she pleaded. I held my laugh. Someday I’ll let her know how foolish her actions were and how foolish this is all about.
“Okay. But, we’ll try. No promises about it, though.” I surrender.
She hugged me. “ Thank you so much. I’ll definitely pay your kindness back. Thank you. And also, I want to become your friend.” She stared at me.
“ Yes.” I answered.
“ Thank you. I want to do it properly.”
No such person is sillier and more idiot than her.
She smiled warmly. “ My name is Cathrine Chevogn. A half Japanese and half French. I am pleased to meet you, Daughter of Italy’s Mayor, Myshcka Demoure.” She offered her hand.
And I greeted her like the way it was before—addressing her with her complete name.
“ No drop that. Again” She scowled.
This girl is just being so ridiculous with herself.
“ I am pleased to accept this rare opportunity Ms. Cathrine Chevogn.” I shook her hand.
Break time is over. I went towards the Music room; this is our Individual class interest. Well, the class I had has to separate as to where we wanted our interest to supply. And Music is the place I wanted myself at.
I took off the white blanket that covers the grand piano.
I sat down and began to play—Pachelbel’s Canon.
I stopped at the middle of my play. My phone rang. I took it up.
“ Hello?” I answered.
“ Mysh, it’s me.” It was Dad.
“ Dad! I miss you? How are you?” as soon as I recognized the voice, my excitement flew.
“ I’m okay. I miss you and Gio as well.” He was exuberant.
“ Oh… now I terribly miss you. How’s your work doing?” I frowned. I miss my Dad so much and my Mom too.
“ Everything’s okay. Mysh, listen,” he took a sigh. “ William is coming at Japan.”
My heart frantically raced. Him? What for? I smiled at the thought of his visit.
“ I’m glad he’s coming.” My cheeks flushed.
“ I’m relieved to hear that.” He paused, “ I hope you two enjoy the days to come.”
“ Thanks, Dad. Kiss Mom for me.” I said and turned off the phone.
I faced the piano again. William is coming. I can’t wait to see him. I smiled and played the Canon again.

Prologue

The day unfolds yet another memory. The cold breeze of spring marks a new beginning for me. I am about to walk the path of becoming a student again.

My name is Myshcka Demoure, a Royal-A student of the elite and the most prestigious Academy in Japan—The East Royal International Academy. And yes, being in this academy requires yourself that you are of true elite, prominent, wealthy and the highest is of course, royalty. The influence of my father brought me in this kind of school. Elite, influential and wealthy was Monsieur Mayor George Demoure—Italy’s Mayor. Oh, I forgot to mention, in this academy you have to be of foreign blood. I am a quarter Japanese and the rest, an Italian blood. My parents, of course, were not here—patching and working back in the city.
I came to Japan to study and it brought curiosity over the lineage my half-blooded mother was.
Breakfast with my younger brother was over and my second year at the academy is about to begin.
“ Miss, the car is ready.” I heard our butler called but I ignored it. I paced to where the car keys are and took mines.
“ Please take Gio to his school. I can handle myself.” I turned to the butler and looked at my brother.
“ I’m not a baby, sister.” He stared at me and took a bite of club sandwiches.
“ I know but you can’t drive alone.” I answered and patted him. “ I’m going now. I’ll see you later.”
I took my school coat and drove towards the academy.
Well, this is the rest of my journey.

Myshcka Demoure

You should be grateful enough. I made it for you to know the life my fellow friends live on.

Myshcka Demoure is my name, a quarter Japanese and an Italian blooded. Among my friends, I am their older sister and a confider.

My story starts here--A life full of expectant surprises among family and a choice of a heart to tame..
